Founded in March 2004, Asian-Canadian Special Events Association (ACSEA) continues to create sustainable projects in the areas of arts and culture, working with partners across British Columbia, Canada, and internationally following a threefold mandate: community engagement, fostering new artistic and cultural expression, and providing a platform to learn and share.
ACSEA has a long history of curating and producing large events in partnership with governments and local community organizations. Signature annual events include TAIWANfest and Lunarfest.
The Taiwanese Canadian Association of Toronto (TCAT), the largest Taiwanese organization in the Toronto area, was established in the 1960s and became a registered not-for-profit in 1975.
The main objectives of TCAT are to promote the common interests and welfare of its members, to provide cultural and recreational activities for the Taiwanese community, and to better the inter-group relations within the context of Canadian multiculturalism.
Partnerships with organizations such as ACSEA allow TCAT to bring events such as TAIWANfest to Harbourfront Centre annually to showcase the local community and international artists in cultural dialogue through the arts.
